Two sizes, and the measurement that decides it is your dog's body length, nose to the base of the tail, not their weight. Pick a breed below, or get the tape out.
Under 21 inches takes the Small · Under 26 inches takes the Large · over 26 inch, sadly we do not have a bed for you
Use our tool to find the ideal sized bed.
Larger size may be required for dogs who like more sleep space, or their body length is close to: 53cm / 20.9”
The sleep surface is the one that decides fit. The overall figures are what the bed takes up in your room, headboard included.
| Small | Large | |
|---|---|---|
| Fits a dog up to | 53 cm · 21 in | 66 cm · 26 in |
| Measured | Nose to the base of the tail, not the end of it | |
| Sleep surface | 55 wide × 69 deep cm · 21.6 × 27.2 in | 65 wide × 78 deep cm · 25.6 × 30.7 in |
| Luxor, overall | 67 wide × 73 deep cm · 26.4 × 28.7 in | 80 wide × 83 deep cm · 31.5 × 32.7 in |
| Luxor, overall height | 56 cm · 22 in | 64 cm · 25.2 in |
| Soho, overall | 87 wide × 84 deep cm · 34.3 × 33.1 in | 101 wide × 96 deep cm · 39.7 × 37.8 in |
| Soho, overall height | 47 cm · 18.5 in | 52 cm · 20.5 in |
| Sleeping height | 21 cm · 8.3 in, floor to the top of the mattress, every bed | |
| Mattress | Memory foam over a high-density base, in both sizes | |
| Weight limit | None. Fit is the constraint, not weight | |
The sleep surface is identical between the Luxor and the Soho at each size. The difference between them is the upholstery and the shape of the frame, which is why their overall footprints differ.
Both beds, both sizes, drawn to the same set of measurements. The sleeping surface sits 21 cm off the floor on every one.
Sleeping height is floor to the top of the mattress: the climb, not the gap underneath.
The same data the picker uses, laid out so you can scan it. Not here? Ignore the breed and use the tape. The numbers above are what decide it.
Comfortably under 53 cm nose to base of tail.
Around the line. Go Large if they sleep stretched out.
Over 53 cm, and inside 66 cm.
Past 66 cm as adults. We would rather say so than take the order.
Crosses and rarer breeds will not all be listed. Email help@thehoomanlife.com with a measurement and we will tell you straight.
Real customers, real photographs. The bed and size on each one comes from the order; the breed only where its owner told us.
Our Large tops out at 66 cm nose to base of tail. Past that they hang off the end, and we would rather tell you now than take the order and handle the return.
Not on the list but over 23 kg / 50 lb? Measure nose to base of tail before you buy. The finder covers 94 breeds and will tell you straight.
With them standing, run a tape from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail, where the tail meets the body, not the end of it. That number is what our sizes are built around, not their weight.
One tip worth more than the tape: watch how they actually sleep. Curled in a ball, stretched out on their side, flat on their stomach? Measure the longest dimension they take up in their favourite position. A stretcher needs the room.
Go up. A dog with room to stretch will use the bed; a dog whose paws hang off it won't. The only reason to go down is space in your room.
And one practical order of operations: choose the size, sleep on it for a few nights, and add the name last. Once the iron-on letters are applied the bed counts as personalised and can no longer be returned.
No, and that is the honest answer rather than the hopeful one. The Large fits a dog up to about 66 cm (26") nose to base of tail. Labradors, German Shepherds, Border Collies, Boxers, Cane Corsos, Labradoodles, Goldendoodles and most dogs over 23 kg / 50 lb are past that as adults.
We do not make a bed that fits them. Not a waiting list, not a special order. We simply do not offer it. If your dog is close to the line, measure them properly first. If they are well past it, we would rather you spent your money somewhere that fits them.
No. A Small and a Large is the whole range. The limit is shipping. The packed box for anything bigger goes past what our carriers will take at a sensible cost. There is no larger size and no date for one.
No set limit. The frame is built on a solid wood base and will take the heaviest dog that physically fits on it. Fit is the constraint, not weight.
Often, yes, depending on the dogs. Helen in the EU bought a Soho Large to test the quality and sent us a photograph of all three of her small dogs competing for it. It is in the gallery above.
Size for the dogs you expect to be on it at once, and measure them together in the position they actually sleep in.
Yes. A cat is comfortably inside the Small, well under the 53 cm the size turns on, so the only question is whether they will use it, and in our experience they are less shy about a good bed than dogs are. The breed picker above covers dogs only.
Size for the adult dog. A puppy grows into a Large happily; a Small they outgrow in four months is money spent twice.
Two things worth knowing. The bed sits off the floor, so a very young puppy may need a hand getting up for the first week or two. One customer told us exactly that about a three-month-old. And if your breed's adult length is past 66 cm, our beds will not fit them as an adult, so better to know now.
The picker covers 94 breeds, so crosses and rarer breeds will not all be there. Ignore the breed and use the tape: under 53 cm takes the Small, 53–66 cm the Large, and over 66 cm neither of our beds will fit.
Still unsure? Email help@thehoomanlife.com with your dog's measurement and we will tell you straight.
No. Both come in the same two sizes and the sleep surface is identical between them: 55 × 69 cm for the Small, 65 × 78 cm for the Large. The difference is the upholstery and the shape of the frame: velvet with a scalloped headboard on the Luxor, vegan leather on a squared frame on the Soho.
Both beds come in both sizes, and every one arrives complete: frame, mattress, 400TC bedding, pillows and the naming kit, in one box.
